CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral police spent much of the day working to capture two men accused of going on a robbery crime spree. Investigators say it all started around 6 a.m. Friday morning with an attempted robbery, along with crimes at a 7/11 convenience store and a motel. The robbers made their way around town Friday before police caught up with them. First one of the suspects showed up at Achieva Bank off Del Prado. Police say a man wearing a mask pointed a gun at a woman who was getting money out of an ATM and she refused. "For some reason he got spooked, never got any money, they got in the car and took off," said Master Sergeant Patrick O'Grady with the Cape Coral Police Department.
They then landed at the 7/11 down the road, where the same man pulled a gun on two people in the parking lot at the gas station and got one of their wallets. Then he went inside and also threatened the gas station clerk for money who refused, that's when he fired a gun.
"He did shoot, but he didn't shoot her," said O'Grady. They fled the scene again in a stolen black Cadillac. Police later found the car at the Motel 6 in north Fort Myers and arrested the two suspects. Police have not said how they finally arrested the suspects. One suspect has been identified as 19-year-old Michael Noah Voll. We're not releasing the name or mugshot of the other suspect because he's a minor.
